               REGENTS EARTH SCIENCE COURSE DESCRIPTION

Earth Science - The Physical Setting- This version of earth science is a detailed study of geology, oceanography, astronomy & meteorology.  The use of the reference tables is an important part of this class.  Classes meet every day with lab classes scheduled 2 out of the 8 day cycle.

    Grades

Your class grades and lab grades will be averaged together and that will be the grade that you see on your report card.  The grades are averaged as follows:

                            Tests:  40%

                            Labs:   25%

                            Homework & Participation:  15%

                            Quizzes:   20%

    Lab

Each student is responsible for completing 1200 minutes of lab time effectively.  This is required by New York State.  This means you must pass the labs to receive credit.  If you fail a lab you must find a time to come in and correct it or else that lab will not count towards the 1200 minutes. Please make sure you and your partner have not copied from one another-that will not as an accepted lab.
