• The Franklinville Elementary School Improvement Team (SIT) is our School-based Shared Decision Making team.

The School Improvement Team (SIT) meets once a month to discuss issues affecting our school and our students.  The SIT utilizes a diverse group of stakeholders in the decision-making process.  The SIT consists of the Elementary Principal, one board member, a teacher aide, a teacher assistant, clerical staff, two parents, a representative of the PTO, and three teachers.

The SIT address topics brought up for discussion in an open format.  Topics revolve around school culture, academics, procedures and processes, and family involvement. If the team decides the topic is appropriate for the scope of the committee it moves on in the process. The team then prioritizes the topics and develops action steps for moving forward.

Some projects the SIT has looked at in the past or are currently looking at are increasing independent reading, Grandparent's Day, dismissal procedures, and courtyard projects.

If you have ideas for the SIT please contact the main office.
