The Board of Education would like to welcome Interim High School Principal, Mrs. Joan D. Thomas. She has more than 45 years of experience in administration and teaching in the Western New York area. Her administrative experiences include implementing eight school budgets; numerous contract negotiations with teachers, support staff, building administrators and district administrators; development and passing of capital projects; initiating and implementing successful leadership teams; as well as negotiating and implementing recent APPR, Common Core and New York State Regents initiatives. She brings a new energy and perspective to the building and will keep the district on track and moving forward until a new principal can be hired.
We also welcome our newly hired Superintendent, Mr. Christopher Swiatek. His career began at the Hamburg Central School District as a social studies teacher. He served as Assistant Principal in the Grand Island Central School District, became Secondary Principal at Warsaw Central School and was later promoted to the position of Director of Personnel, Technology and Instruction for the district. His most recent hire was with the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School District as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources. Prior to his career in education, Mr. Swiatek served in the U.S. Air Force, and owned a construction restoration business. He will begin serving as superintendent in our district on October 24th.
