I would like to introduce myself. I am the new Director of Special Education for the Franklinville Central School District. I am very excited to make the Franklinville area my new home. My animals and I are having fun exploring the area. I have always enjoyed a small rural setting and look forward to making this area my new home.
As I am settling into my beautiful surroundings here at the Elementary School please feel free to stop in the Special Education office and introduce yourself. I have been in the field of special education for over 30 years and have held an administrative role for the last 12 years. I have been on all sides of a Committee on Special Education table, as a parent, a teacher, an advocate, and a Chairperson. Those experiences have helped me improve my role as a Director of Special Education.
As the Director of Special Education I am truly looking forward to getting to know you and your student(s). There are very talented teachers, teaching assistants, and aides that I am meeting whom are the backbone to the wonderful programs and services your student is currently receiving. I am grateful that we can work as a team supporting your child’s unique needs.
During my first few weeks I will be visiting classrooms in and out of the District to meet students, their teachers and to learn more about the programs and supports available to students here at Franklinville and through the local BOCES. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call or set up a meeting with me. Thanks you for giving me the opportunity to get to know your student and you family.
