Greetings from the new Director of Special Education

  • Welcome back from Spring Break!

Please feel free to stop in the CSE Office located in the Elementary School and say "Hi". I am very excited to meet all the families here at Ten Broeck Academy/Franklinville Central Schools.

Teachers are refreshed from their break and are now busy getting supports in place for the annual New York State Assessments. We are fortunate this year that all students will be allowed as much time as needed to complete their tests. In addition the tests have also been streamlined with fewer items to assist students with successfully completing them. While we know this can be a stressful time for your student(s) the teachers here work very hard to prepare the students. They emphasize with the students their individual strengths and abilities to achieve and persevere. The teachers communicate that these tests are not a class grade for the student or for the teacher but are a helpful point in time measure. The test results help our teachers and the school district determine what is working well with students and helps us to improve our approaches and focus with student learning.

If you have any questions /concerns about the testing accommodations your student(s) receives for the New York State Assessments please feel free to ask the Interventionist/Special Education teacher working with your student or give our office a call (676-8001)

Welcome Back and lets "Spring" into the remainder of the school year!

As always Please feel free to stop in or call with any questions or concerns.
